Marie "Zulmie" Lorminey was born in Brooklyn, NY, to two Haitian parents. Marie is one of six children and was raised in Uniondale, NY. Marie completed her undergraduate degree at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA. She also completed her graduate studies at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA where she obtained a Masters in Practical Theology. Writing has always been a creative and therapeutic outlet for Marie. As an educator, Marie would incorporate poetry into her teaching. She would allow her students to create a song, skit, play, or poem about the topic or unit being covered. Marie shared her poetic gift in every way that she could. She noticed how her words were as therapeutic for her friends, family, and students, as they were for her. She desired for her poems to reach every person that desired the right words to help them through a moment.

He is now an active father, husband, and has been in sobriety for over 13 years. Tyrome succeeded in academics by returning to school to start an educational journey.
