Marie "Zulmie" Lorminey was born in Brooklyn, NY, to two Haitian parents. Marie is one of six children and was raised in Uniondale, NY. Marie completed her undergraduate degree at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA. She also completed her graduate studies at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA where she obtained a Masters in Practical Theology. Writing has always been a creative and therapeutic outlet for Marie. As an educator, Marie would incorporate poetry into her teaching. She would allow her students to create a song, skit, play, or poem about the topic or unit being covered. Marie shared her poetic gift in every way that she could. She noticed how her words were as therapeutic for her friends, family, and students, as they were for her. She desired for her poems to reach every person that desired the right words to help them through a moment.

My name is Johnnie Finch. I am a North Carolina criminal defense attorney and represent individuals who have been charge with criminal offenses, such as, driving while impaired, probation violations, and drug offenses.

After college, I had the opportunity to counsel teens that had been charged with both, juvenile and adult criminal offenses. I've also worked for the NC Department of Juvenile Justice for seven years. After being admitted into the North Carolina Bar in 2013, I have practiced in the area of criminal defense, exclusively. Since opening The Law Office of Johnnie L. Finch, Jr., PLLC, in January of 2016, we have expanded our practice to handle Automotive Injury, Catastrophic Injury, and Wrongful Death matters, with offices located in Elizabeth City, NC, as well as, Greenville, NC.

My practice area extends primarily throughout NC’s District 1 (Perquimans, Pasquotank, Dare, Gates, Chowan, Currituck, and Camden Counties) and surrounding counties (Tyrrell, Hertford, and Bertie).

Tyrome Lee, Jr is a former gang member, drug dealer, recovering alcoholic and a convicted felon. After years of mayhem, heartache, pain and seeing his life headed in a continual negative direction he began making the necessary changes in his life. He is now an active father, husband, and has been in sobriety for over 13 years. Tyrome succeeded in academics by returning to school to start an educational journey. His aim was to help those in need and try to find a way to give back to the community he loved and was once a part of. Tyrome received his Bachelors in Applied Behavioral Sciences, and was accepted into the University of Washington’s School of Social Work to work on his Master’s degree the following year. His area of concentration is multigenerational practice and he plans to work on policy change to address social justice issues that affect minorities and their communities. He spent 5 years as a Chemical Dependency Professional and Case Manager at a non-profit, intensive outpatient facility, the Matt Talbot Center. He helped men struggling with addiction and homelessness restore their lives, and shared his own story of change. Tyrome used his street knowledge and education to make connections with people in the community and built bridges with those who truly wanted to play a part in instituting change. He has participated in many workshops and seminars that focus on undoing institutional racism while advocating for social justice.
